March 3, 2014 -The Cameron County Regional Mobility Authority (CCRMA) and the Hidalgo County Regional Mobility Authority (HCRMA) conducted a joint meeting on Monday, March 3, 2014 at the Rio Grande Valley Partnership boardroom in Weslaco. The RMA’s discussed joining forces in hopes to continue to provide transportation infrastructure that will allow drivers to have another option and drive from Cameron County to Hidalgo County and vice versa. For nearly 100 years, AT&T has remained dedicated to supporting active military personnel, veterans and their families.
But, as President John F. Kennedy once said, “as we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
One way we do that at AT&T is through our efforts to recruit, train and hire veterans. Hiring our nation’s heroes is a priority for our company.
We recently announced that we are stepping up our veteran recruiting efforts with the goal of hiring 10,000 veterans and their family members into career opportunities over the next five years. So far,AT&T hired 3,600 veterans in 2013.

Meet the First Chairwoman of the Rio Grande Valley Partnership
WESLACO – The Rio Grande Valley Partnership has named McAllen attorney Deborah Cordova as its chair for 2014 – the first time the chamber has ever been lead by a woman in its 69 years.
“Deborah is the absolute right choice to lead this organization right now,” said Julian Alvarez, RGV Partnership President and CEO. “Deborah understands the Partnership’s mission, knows the pulse of the business community and will help lead us as a broader entity especially as we deal with more and more regional issues.”
Alvarez added that Cordova’s selection was even more special because she was chosen by her peers to head up the Partnership. She has spent the last year serving as chair-elect. Current Chairman, Weslaco businessman Spencer Bell, conducted his last meeting on December 19. Cordova would immediately follow Bell and her first board meeting as chair will be in January.
