Fireworks on the Bay - SOUTH PADRE ISLAND
From Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend, the Fireworks Capital of Texas (as proclaimed by the Texas Senate!) celebrates summer with fireworks every Friday night at 9:15 pm. All children and families are invited to celebrate My Hispanic Hero: Celebrating Hispanics in the Military in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. BRING YOUR TEDDY OR FAVORITE STUFFED ANIMAL FOR A BEARY HEALTHY AND SAFETY CHECK UP at the Fifth annual Teddy Bear Clinic! Doctors from Valley Baptists Health Systems will conduct full evaluations for any stuffed animal at the Children’s Museum of Brownsville. They will be checking patients’ ears, eyes and heart and educating children on the importance of doctor’s visits. Health and Nutrition sessions will be given. There will be free blood sugar screenings for adults. Parents will obtain child photo identification cards, complete with fingerprints, to be used in emergency situations. Plus, the Brownsville Fire and Police Department will be on-hand for children’s safety workshops. Bring your teddy bear and don’t miss this “beary special” day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.!
